This Special Session is open to residents of the EU. Financial support is available through the Erasmus program at your own University.

Methods for achieving these objectives will include:
- Keynotes are given by internationally recognized experts in different targeted areas.
- Hands-on session for using innovative educational platforms such as the MarioNum educational cloud
- Panels that discuss recent IT and AI-based approaches
- Site visits to cultural institutions to experience diversity first-hand.
- Informal and social meetings that aim to strengthen relationships among participants and foster fruitful collaborations.

Objectives and Description:
IT technology has become unavoidable in today’s educational process and training programs. Multimedia content, Online self-training modules, virtual (remote) labs, Intelligent tutoring systems and recommender systems are all changing the way knowledge and competencies are acquired. The recent irruption of generative IA systems through the multiplication of conversational agents is drastically reshaping the educational process and interrogating the role of universities in the coming decades.
This BIP aims to gather lecturers from different European universities as well as lecturers from international audiences to exchange on recent IT and AI-based approaches and how they can enhance higher education taking into account requirements of personalized educational paths, remote learning, all types of inclusion and naturally reduced environmental impacts. The main focus will be on virtual educational environments and IA approaches. Another important topic concerns the role of learning analytics approaches that are at the intersection of information technology and educational data for enhancing learning processes, outcomes, and experiences.

Virtual component description:
An online meeting will be held ten days after the end of the BIP week where each participant will be asked to present the main learned lessons and projects, she/he intends to explore based on findings learned during the BIP. Concrete collaboration opportunities should also be explored during this online meeting.
